Projects - Directory and Security Services Project

"The consultant joined us as a freelancing Senior Consultant to support the deployment of the Star Alliance DSS (Directory and Security Services). Due to his profound knowledge of Network and System Security, PKIs and the related processes, we extended his sphere of responsibility considerably. He was put in charge for installation, securing and administration of all DSS Linux systems at Star Alliance, as well as for administration and deployment of Linux based firewalls within the office LAN. During the course of the project, he also introduced the idea of a superordinated Bridge CA into the project, in order to link member airlines already operating a PKI and to offer PKI services to others who don´t. Furthermore he acted as a driving force for the introduction of a service monitoring tool to enhance the Quality of Service for Star Alliance applications. He administered all DSS related Cisco equipment (router/switches) and was a substitute to the DSS system manager and Checkpoint/NOKIA firewall administrator. In July 2003 he was additionally assigned the role as technical point of contact for the first deployed DSS enabled application. We found him to be a thorough and open minded person who is a good team player and pleasant to work with. We can recommend him without restriction."

"Der Consultant begleitete unser Unternehmen schon einmal bei der ersten Implementierung eines VPN. Als ehemaliger Mitarbeiter unseres damaligen Internet Service Providers kennt er sowohl die technische Seite eines Anbieters, wie auch die Infrastruktur von namhaften Kunden. In dieser Position war der Consultant ein wertvoller Vermittler zwischen unserem Haus und dem ISP. Der Consultant zeichnete sich durch hervorragende Fachkenntnis in den Bereichen Netzwerksicherheit, Netzwerkdesign und UNIX aus. Weiterhin unterstützte er unser Haus bei allen Fragen einer PKI Lösung im Rahmen eines konzernweiten e-commerce Projektes. Durch eine unerwartete Abschaltung unseres ehemaligen ISP durch Insolvenz war ein Wechsel zu einem neuen Provider mit der gesamten VPN und Internet Infrastruktur notwendig. Trotz großem Zeitdruck konnte diese Herausforderung gemeinsam mit den Kollegen unseres Hauses in kürzester Zeit umgesetzt werden. Der Aussendienst war dadurch binnen nur einer Woche wieder voll über eine neue VPN Infrastruktur arbeitsfähig. Wir können den Cosultant ohne Einschränkung empfehlen und würden bei Bedarf gerne wieder auf ihn zurückgreifen."
